    In depth

    Verdict

Milk It Mick has yet to win since landing the 2003 Dewhurst and is probably best watched on his first start after a break so preference is for Sabbeeh, who gets the vote ahead of Polar Ben. The last mentioned has ground conditions to suit but there is a suspicion that James Fanshawe's gelding is better over a mile. Oriental Warrior is less exposed than stablemate Sabbeeh but lacks form on the surface so is difficult to recommend. Chrysander should be suited by the ground but needs to improve, while Uhoomagoo steps up in class having been running so well in handicaps of late. A safer bet then looks to be Sabbeeh, who while yet to really reproduce his juvenile form has been performing creditably in defeat of late and has ground conditions that suit ideally.
