Verdict

Batavir is on a hat-trick after wins at Ascot and Wincanton but he may be worth opposing on quicker ground having been raised another 7lb since his latest success. The lightly-raced Call The Cops is worth considering on his first try over 3m but Cantlow and Al Co are better known as chasers. Kelvingrove never threatened behind Bygones Sovereign at Haydock last time but nothing got near the all-the-way winner that day and he had run well in his two previous starts. Waltz Darling was third over course and distance when put back over hurdles last time but still looks a couple of pounds too high. SELDOM INN was giving weight to the first two when a close-up third at Musselburgh last time. He clearly got the longer trip that day and could be well treated on his handicap debut.
