Verdict

SOMETIMES ALWAYS (NAP) escapes a penalty for winning a conditionals’ handicap at Wetherby last month. The well-beaten third that day won on Boxing Day and Charlie Todd can claim his full allowance today. Major Dundee was second to a well-regarded novice at Warwick but wouldn’t want conditions too testing. Uttoxeter winner Ulverston has already been beaten under a penalty but there are possibilities about Dorking Lad, who has been struggling for pace over 2m. Arcadian Pearl will also appreciate the extra yardage after a one-paced third at Exeter.
