Naadirr struggled after winning this last year and has undergone wind surgery. Camacho Chief landed a double over 5f last autumn but remains 7lb higher on his reappearance while HOW FAR won off a 6lb lower mark at Lingfield last summer. But the latter ran well in a decent sprint at Chelmsford in January and looks to have been saved for this with Jim Crowley taking over the reins having won on Simon Crisford’s charge in the past. Buridan is another with something to prove off his current mark but Ryan Moore’s presence suggests he’ll go well on his first start as a gelding while Von Blucher was last seen going close over track and trip in October and is another to consider. Cold Stare and Jawwaal drop back in trip for their seasonal debuts but Erissimus Maximus was placed on the all-weather earlier this month and makes more appeal.
