Verdict

Gordon Elliott has won this in two of the last three years and MALA BEACH will find this much easier than when taking on the likes of Edwulf, Djakadam and Our Duke in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown. He’d earlier beaten Bonny Kate more than 10 lengths in the Troytown at Gowran, though the latter is now 6lb better off. Val De Ferbet won a Grade 3 last season but he’s struggled to make the same impact in a light campaign this term. Maggio is in the veteran stage now and Patrick Griffin’s grand servant may struggle to keep tabs on younger rivals.
