Verdict

MOST PECULIAR was tapped for speed at a crucial stage at Clonmel last month before staying on strongly behind Drunken Counsel. Today's longer trip looks just what's required and compensation awaits. That winner is trained by Gordon Elliott, who has Royal Captain engaged here. He's had two runs over hurdles and was an odds-on chance when beaten by Rasco on this track in December and makes his bumper debut. Crofton Trail has run two poor races since a very good effort on fast ground at Galway in September and may find the going too soft. Belle Fortune was never in contention on her debut at Gowran last month but should have come on for the experience and can get involved.
