In depth

Verdict

It's impossible to overlook the claims of MINOT STREET (NAP), who won easily over 1m2f here last month and again over this trip a week ago. The assessor has taken note with an 11lb rise but Tom Madden's claim reduces the weight slightly and a quick double looks on the cards. Johann Bach scored over the track and trip on just his second start in December and bounced back over 1m2f last month for which a 2lb rise looks lenient. Bumper winner Call Me Pj may find this on the short side but Cottesloe has twice scored over the course and distance and is only 3lb higher than his latest victory with a 4lb claimer on board to overcome the extra. Having won 13 races in her career, Strandfield Lady is always worth a look and she's been running well on Turf while Blue Ridge Lane found 1m2f inadequate on Friday after scoring over hurdles at Perth in September.
