Verdict

Beauchamp Bagenal, a 100/1 chance when beaten a distance in a Fairyhouse bumper, came here for his debut under Flat Rules in January and landed a 7f maiden though the runner-up has been well beaten subsequently. ADNAP went up 6lb for his course and distance victory but he completed a double with something in hand over subsequent winner Kinch. He's up another 8lb but a hat-trick beckons. Masalai is vey consistent at this level but is 10lb higher than his last victory in October. Mutadaawel is still looking a few pounds high despite a 2lb drop while Nordic Passage, a winner here in January with Koybig close behind in fourth, never recovered from a slow start on a return visit. Roving Master, who has transferred from Ralph Beckett, finished second at Wolverhampton on his only all-weather start.
