In depth

Verdict

Feisty Champion, a winner for John Hills at Wolverhampton, ran easily his best race to date for new connections at Navan and can race off a 6lb lower mark here so must be a threat. CARVELAS is still a maiden and had had plenty of chances but his overall form, especially when a good fourth behind the prolific Ancient Sands at the Curragh, should prove good enough for this. Anoosou would be better off with a few flights of hurdles in front of him but Whatever It Takes has a course and distance victory to his credit though he's been well beaten over timber recently. Prospectorous has won twice around here, including off a higher mark in May, and Luke Dempsey's claim may prove invaluable.
