Verdict

China's Storm has made steady progress and was always travelling well when runner-up to Moll over a mile, leading at the furlong pole and staying on when headed close home. But CORVUS GLAIVE took some time to warm up in that race but stayed on nicely and the longer trip can enable him to turn the tables. The Truant showed a bit of potential last summer and looked as though this sort of trip was required when staying on in a mile handicap three weeks ago. Joseph O'Brien has five of the nine entries but Juliet Rose couldn't go the pace over 7f here last month, though she ran on when getting the hang of things and is bred for middle-distances. Pepper Sprout was well beaten in a Curragh maiden last summer but is another certain to improve. Dawn Over Owning is a half-brother to a winning hurdler while Herculaneum is a half-brother to three winners up to a mile. Presgrave, by Camelot out of a 1m2f winner, is related to several winners and could prove best of the newcomers.
