Verdict

Cebuano was having his first start since August when staying on from the rear behind Wrekin Rock last week but is now 10lb higher than when successful here last summer. Paddy The Celeb ran well for most of last summer but is high enough in the weights as a consequence, a remark that also applies to Gretzky, who has suffered for completing a double earlier in the year. The latter just holds Denny Crane on their latest run but the jumper Dark Prospect is no forlorn hope despite a big weight as he's run well here in the past. TRIBES AND BANNERS has an absence to overcome but he's well up to this at his best and Joseph O'Brien is a positive booking so he gets the nod.
