        Verdict

        Nixon looks to be progressing having finished ahead of Midnight Badger, Dollar Brand and Captain Yolo when a close second behind Tambora, who runs in the previous race, at Kenilworth last month. Dollar Brand’s stablemate Anecdote could be interesting and Maitland Magic has placed twice from three starts. It must be significant that Richard Fourie prefers debutant Duke Of Diamonds, who is by Duke Of Marmalade, to the experienced Themadirishsheriff but we’ll take a chance on fellow newcomer ATTORNEY GENERAL. He has a decent pedigree compared to most of these.
