Verdict

All six have fair claims but the problem horse is Amadeus Wolfe Tone. More than good enough to take this on 2012 form, he's only beaten a total of five horses home in four large-field handicaps this season. Something is clearly amiss and connections reach for first-time blinkers now. Keep an eye on him in the market. Clear Spring landed a Bath handicap in decisive fashion last time and should go well again with Richard Hughes an excellent booking. Titus Gent is likely to get his head in front soon but it's more likely to be on the all-weather and the vote goes to LA FORTUNATA. She showed she'd retained her ability this term when running a cracking race in the ultra-competitive Investec 'Dash' at the Derby meeting, beaten only a length and a half into sixth place by Duke Of Firenze. She's equally effective over a sixth furlong and a repeat of that level here would see her home.
