Verdict

A tight contest at the weights with Code Red and Hail The Hero well beaten in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and Lexington Times failing to figure in the Irish version. Ryan Moore is back on board Ballymore Castle, who makes more appeal than stablemate Realtra, but still has a bit to find on last year's form with Secret Brief. The latter ran well enough for second in Listed company at Sandown last time and and is preferred to handicap winner Mister Universe while the returning Mubtaghaa should give a good account for the in-form Haggas yard. But Charlie Hills also has his string in good order and ACES gets a tentative vote to come out best back over 7f after a pipe-opener in the Craven Stakes on last month's reppearance.
