In depth
Verdict
Simplify has more to do under a lb penalty for his win at Chepstow last time and preference is for another last time out winner Yajbill, who gets the vote over Bold Minstrel. The selection gained a deserved first success when landing a Brighton maiden last month and does not look to be harshly treated on his debut in this grade. Bold Minstrel is an admirably tough sort who showed at Bath last time that six furlongs should hold no fears for him. However, the burden of top weight may just prove to be beyond Mick Quinn's colt. Gary Moore's Cusoon was given a good ride by Ryan Moore to win his maiden at Brighton and a subsequent outing at Bath suggests that he may have too much weight today. Of more interest may be Peter Chapple-Hyam's Storm Fury who was not beaten far by Simplify at Warwick and has a nice racing weight. Mark Johnston's runners always have to be respected so the stable's Toby's Dream is another worthy of a mention along with Ed Dunlop's consistent Tesary but the vote goes to Yajbill, who is taken to follow up his recent Brighton success.
