      Verdict

      Ashpan Sam and Clear Spring retain enthusiasm for the sprint game despite reaching the veteran stage and are preferred in that order. Diamond Lady is not far behind in the age stakes either and is admirably consistent although the feeling persists she reserves her best for Brighton and Lingfield, She could well be suited by this idiosyncratic track however and is a key contender. HIGHLAND ACCLAIM, a course and distance winner, signposted a return to form the last day when a close fourth here when Ashpan Sam was fractionally ahead of him. He is now back down to a figure within 1lb of his last winning mark and can regain the winning thread. The remaining trio would all have a shout at their best in an open contest.
