In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see if there is any market confidence behind the Michael Jarvis-trained Jaasoos on his debut but this is likely to go to one of those with experience and with Loch Tay not certain to appreciate the cut in the ground, the vote goes to Spirit of The Mist. The selection ran promisingly on his Sandown debut earlier this month and, being by soft ground influence Trans Island, Tim Pitt's youngster should improve for racing on today's surface. Richard Hannon's Oakley Heffert was well held on his Windsor debut and is probably best watched now, while Silca Key should relish the conditions but this looks tougher than the race that she ran in at Folkestone first time out. Spirit of The Mist was beaten some way on his first start but the softer ground here should help and he gets the vote.
