Verdict
We do not have too much form to go on here so the betting market might provide clues but, that said, we will side with Basic System over Bounty Quest and Mastman. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection ran on well late on on his debut run and should improve with that under his belt. As such, he looks to have as good a chance as any here. Bounty Quest disappointed last time but had shown plenty of promise on his debut in a race that has since worked out well. Hadrian was disappointing on his debut but could fare better now, while Mastman comes into things based on his second to Grand Marque at Newbury on his debut. Della Salute showed a modicum of promise on her debut while the well-bred Sir Mark Prescott runner, Red Peony, should stay a lot further in time. Now where have we heard that before? Wasalat has been knocking at the door and will give us an idea as to the strength of the form. Half the battle will be how they handle the track. That is one thing we cannot legislate for beforehand and, with that in mind, we will opt for but, once again, we will side Basic System.
