In depth

Verdict

Achimota hacked up at Chepstow by 12 lengths last time when seemingly totally unfancied, just four days after pulling up when well supported at Uttoxeter. He's up 12lb for that success which came in a first-time tongue tie and blinkers which are retained here and a repeat of that last run will see him in the shake-up despite the the handicapper's punishment. UMBERTO D'OLIVATE, well beaten last time at Towcester when seemingly unsuited by the Northamptonshire venue, was a good winner here previously and has an excellent record at this track. He remains on a mark of 115 despite that recent disappointment but should give a good account now returned to his arguably most popular haunt. Bramble Brook must surely find his way into the winner's circle sooner rather than later for his in-form yard and rates essential shortlist material with Paul O'Brien claiming a useful 5lb, along with Silver Commander, an excellent second at Taunton on Friday when well-backed and beaten only by a progressive horse. Smiles For Miles requires monitoring in the market after a lengthy absence.
