Verdict
This is another competitive race but General Gossip, Madam Mosso and It's Music are put up for the shortlist and the vote is given to General Gossip. The selection has a 7lbs penalty for his win at Leicester last time when he defeated Full On. He has no trip or ground worries and he won with plenty in hand in that Leicester race, so this 9-year-old may well be capable of getting his head in front again. Madame Mosso has certainly got ability and she is relatively lightly-raced, but she will have to step-up on her latest effort over a longer trip than this at Plumpton last time to get competitive here. It's Music raced too keenly when third behind Parson Ploughman at Newton Abbott back in November. If he settles better here then he should be capable of making the frame. Athnowen is a consistent sort and is another to consider for a place, but for the winner we return to General Gossip.
