Verdict

NOUN DE LA THINTE is the one to be wary of here and she's preferred to Pearl and Troialini. Pearl was well backed when runner-up at Wetherby but was a little disappointing just eight days later at Kempton; she's been given a short break and may prove better served by this more testing circuit. Troialini was no match for the resurgent Mount Benger in December but that was a perfectly respectable effort; a repeat of which should see him involved. The selection had been off the track since November 2007 so it was no surprise that she had no more to give in the closing stages at Plumpton. This is a quick return to action in light of her absence but her trainer is adept at knowing when to turn her horses out quickly and it looks significant that they've persevered with this mare. She looks well treated, has confirmed her well being and we expect Noun De La Thinte to open her account.
