Verdict

VERY COOL hasn't quite lived up to his promise but he is selected to account for Silverburn and Karanja. David Pipe's team are at least in form and the gelding ran creditably in the tonguestrap and blinker combination last time out. Silverburn has proved something of an enigma. Paul Nicholls has always suggested that he might be better on fast ground though punters have paid through the nose to find out. Karanja is getting on a wee bit but he is tenacious enough and Simon Burrough is more than capable of having them ready first time out. Pipe Banner isnt the most asthetically pleasing with his jumping but he did win well at Fakenham last term. Valento won well last time out against lesser opposition but could not have been more emphatic in doing so. Knight Legend is potentially well treated versus his chasing mark though that is not necessarily a guarantee of any aptitude at this discipline. Thedeboftheyear was well supported last time out though was brought down at the very first flight. Midas Way raced very gingerly around Ascot and it is to be hoped that he is in a better frame of mind this evening. Very Cool has plenty to like about him off what could be a very helpful handicap mark, he is selected.
