Verdict

An interesting start to the card where ACCORDING TO DICK is taken to get off to a winning start over hurdles at the main expense of Penharold. The selection scored at the first time of asking under rules when running out the ready winner of a Cheltenham bumper last month. An expensive purchase earlier in the year, he looks sure to be suited by this extra couple of furlongs and he can continue to recoup some of the outlay by taking this. Penharold won a point earlier in the year and represents another top yard whose runners are always respected. Money for him would make him even more interesting but nonetheless we expect him to go well. Qualypso D'Allier is related to smart chaser Kandjar D'Allier and again, this trip should suit at this stage, as should the ground. He also cost a fair price at Cheltenham's sales in April and after a pointing win he looks more than capable of going well. It's a fair assumption that Victor Dartnall's Moleskin will improve for a tilt at the hurdles and with the yard having had a recent winner he could go well fresh. Award Winner has a Ludlow bumper win to his name and handles some cut in the ground, though he has to put behind him a dismal effort last time. The Alners have a good record at Exeter and despite three runners-up spots Vodka Brook looks decent and would be no surprise winner. Minella Theatre went went in Irish bumpers last term and Hen Knight has had all summer to get him used to her methods, so we could see a better effort than last time, but for today we'll follow the gospel According To Dick.
