In depth
Verdict
Mcevoy ran well on his British debut for Evan Williams and he is taken to score ahead of Finzi and Flash Cummins. He plugged on and on and on last time over three miles and this marathon trip looks right up his street. The ground should suit and despite the burden of top weight, a big run looks imminent. Finzi won well last time out, showing that this trip will hold no fears, however a 9lb rise in the weights looks enough. If you fancy his chances, then you must also pay close attention to Amazing Valour who was only beaten a length and has claims, although the handicapper has upped him in the weights so he only has a 4lb pull. Gumley Gale acts at the trap and cannot be ruled out off his light weight, whilst at the other end Eurocelt is very consistent and has place claims at least. Flash Cummins steps up in trip and tries a visor for the first time in the hope that it will bring about some improvement. An open contest, and it will be a real old slog, however it is Mcevoy who can score.
