Verdict

Aurillac ran in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham after winning at Chepstow so should find this easier. He makes more appeal than exposed course and distance winner Say My Name on these terms and also Man From Seville, last of six at Haydock and upped in trip today. Clondaw Fonz was soon beaten last time at Warwick and his stable is in the doldrums but he still holds Glengra on the form book. WHIPCORD, Wotzizname and Sugar Loaf Sholto are all making their debut under Rules having been campaigned between the flags. The former won at Toomebridge in the autumn and has since joined Paul Nicholls. He’ll have had plenty of schooling over timber and could take advantage of the 6lb he receives from the previous winners in this race.
