In depth

Verdict

Ballabrace was third when well backed on his debut at Plumpton in November, while there was some promise in Trade On's fifth at Huntingdon the same month. This may prove to be an informative bumper, however, with several of the more powerful West Country yards being represented. Tom Scudamore prefers Atlantic Pearl to newcomer The Tatkin, while Paul Nicholls saddles War Of The World who cost £160,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to several winning jumpers. Philip Hobbs also looks to have a nice sort, however, in FINGAL BAY who is by leading NH sire King's Theatre out of a Blakeney mare. A half-brother to the useful Oodachee, he gets the vote to make a winning start.
