In depth

Verdict

ROCK CELTIC should be too good for these and Monreale and Sunwise likely to have the battle on for places. Phillip Hobbs' gelding has acquitted himself well in two races in Britain against much stronger opposition, and in a field comprising of mainly modest types, he can gain compensation. David Pipe has arrived mobhanded. Monreale was a listed performer on the flat in Germany and could possibly be the best of those on paper. Sunwise has to go down on the shortlist. A winner for John Oxx in Ireland; he did beat Pittoni at Leopardstown in June and that horse has gone on to be a very fair juvenile hurdler. She's On The Case ran a career best at Towcester though needs to improve again to win this. For Non Stop is a winner of a point over three miles so can be anticipated to find this plenty sharp enough. Victors Serenade ran far better than his market position suggested at Taunton. Not too many of these can be fancied but Rock Celtic is our idea of the most likely protagonist.
