      Verdict

      Andrew Balding's Megan's Motivator is Flat-bred and, as a half-brother to a miler who stayed 1m4f, shouldn't be lacking in speed. But BALAKLAVA cost £190,000 as a foal and will be expected to start paying back the outlay sooner rather than later. He's a full brother to Group 3 winning miler Baliyana and a half-brother to four other winners including the smart middle-distance performer Balikheri and should take all the beating over this trip. Staigue Fort and The Happy Warrior are more stoutly bred but worth noting for future reference.
