In depth

Verdict

Coo Star Sivola was well backed in a Grade 3 at Cheltenham last month but could only muster the one pace. That was hist first run outside of novice company and he’ll be fancied to open his account over the larger obstacles in this much less-competitive affair if staying the longer trip. But PURE VISION looks a stronger stayer having won here over hurdles last year – he wasn’t disgraced at Chepstow after winning at Ffos Las in November. Walt is gradually getting there and holds Ice Cool Champs on the form book but Kimberlite Candy was disappointing when favourite over this trip at Newcastle. Bobo Mac and Surtee Du Berlais have plenty to prove at present.
