Verdict

TARQUINIUS pulled up when sent over 3m5f on this track in-between scoring at Punchestown and again at Leopardstown on Saturday. He arrives here with a 4lb penalty which is more than negated by his jockey's claim so a follow-up looks on the cards. Murchu is up 5lb for a hard-fought victory over Give Us A Hand and today's rival Spot The Boss in the race where the selection pulled up, as did the favourite Highdownhill, and he's a young staying prospect who will relish the testing ground. Highdownhill had earlier won three of his four previous races so it was probably the marathon trip that was responsible for his poor effort and Spot The Boss was prominent throughout so today's trip shouldn't be a problem.
