RED PERSIAN wasn't fancied on his debut at the Curragh but ran an excellent race and would have finished even closer with a clear run. He's taken to go one better though this looks a stronger than usual maiden for the course. Spirit Power hasn't been doing much wrong over the minimum though his best runs have come at Dundalk but Verhoyen, who was behind the selection at the Curragh, made great strides when runner-up in a Listed contest at Naas. Whitefountainfairy is related to plenty of winners while Gordon Elliott is on the scorecard this season with a two-year-old so both Only William, a speedily-bred son of Kyllachy out of a 5f winner, and the Rock Of Gibraltar filly Smiling Eliza, are worth monitoring in the betting.
