In depth

Verdict

LAREENA started odds-on for her debut over timber at Clonmel in May but ran a shocker. That was on good ground and she reappeared on New Year's Day at Tramore on heavy going to produce a much better effort so with further progress likely she can go one better. Lackaneen Leader, a winning bumper and point-to-pointer, was beaten a long way when runner-up to Crackerdancer at Limerick but the winner looks useful and Gordon Elliott's mare should made a bold bid to go one better. Castafiore Park finished in front of her at Navan earlier before reverting to a bumper at Limerick where she couldn't cope with a well supported winner. She looks certain to go well back over timber. Winning bumper One First Cut has shown promise over hurdles and is another who can get into the action as can Tildas Icon, who wasn't beaten far on heavy ground at Cork on her hurdling bow.
