Paddy The Oscar was having just his second start over fences when landing a beginners' chase at Thurles by 19l but it was a poor race and the handicapper may have overreacted. Pontiac didn't beat much at Gowran but BAREL OF LAUGHS will find this much less daunting than at Cheltenham in November where he ran very well behind Swing Bill and Jim Culloty's charge is handed the vote in a very open contest. Molly's Boy had Scavenger Lad 3l behind at Navan but this is much tougher and Talab is still a maiden and looks high enough in the weights. Shellys Creek did everything right when slamming her field at Gowran but the combination of a 10lb rise and much quicker ground makes this a much more difficult task.
