In depth

Verdict

Experience looks the key in testing conditions and Bronze Age was having her third start when runner-up in heavy going at Limerick with Sagittarius Rising back in third. She'll stay further than this so with the ground in her favour has to be on the shortlist though STELLAR ECLIPSE looks the one to be on. Dermot Weld's charge came up against Kenya at Cork and though beaten a long way the winner enhanced the form when landing a Leopardstown Group 3 on Sunday. Pat Smullen has some good chances today and can pull one back on Colin Keane in the race for the title. After a promising debut over 7f on heavy ground at Listowel, Optional Necessity stepped up to a mile in similar conditions at Gowran but weakened quickly after showing up well so the drop in trip should suit. Princess Yaiza also ran well for a long way over a mile at the Curragh and is another dropping back in distance.
