      Verdict

      Point-to-point winner COWARDS CLOSE made a successful return from a lay-off to beat a previous winner at Exeter. That was only his second start under Rules so there should be more to come and he can defy his penalty, though a couple of his rivals aren't without ability. Native Colony needs to rediscover his best form and has something to find with Peterbrown on Plumpton running but the less-exposed No Buts appears to be improving and should go well.
