      Verdict

      MISTRAL REINE and Crookstown can fight out the finish of this novices' handicap with the vote just going to Lucy Wadham's mare. She's been well beaten in two starts since scoring over track and trip in December but is more likely to act on this tight course than Ben Case's charge, who finished tailed off at Uttoxeter after winning over a shorter distance at Market Rasen. Itoldyou stays well but is much better over fences and Zafaraban has gone backwards since a couple of good runs last summer. Curtain Razer is probably also best watched at present.
