In depth

Verdict

Mister Fantastic landed a first success over timber since 2011 when scoring with seemingly plenty in hand at Newton Abbot last time, although the handicapper's decision to hit him with a 13lb rise seems overly harsh. He should be involved all the same if in a similar mood whilst Devil's Dyke looks to have more to offer after just the four runs over timber. He shaped promisingly last time and deserves shortlist inclusion along with the consistent Gwili Spar, who may possibly need this run though after a 204-day absence. GRAND MARCH has competed in better grade than this as evinced by a respectable sixth-place finish behind the top-class Josses Hill at Newbury last season. He's gone pretty nicely the last twice too and should go close here with the improving Ed Cookson claiming a useful 5lb.
