      Verdict

Luca Cumani's QAHRIMAN should reward his trainer's patience with success here. The colt showed promise on his Sandown debut behind Arch Fire, narrowly beaten in a photo in a hot Goodwood handicap last week. Latterly, he stayed on at one pace to finish a well beaten third behind the well-regarded Laatafreet and Polperro at Leicester but was 12 lengths clear of the fourth. He can only improve and the move to 1m4f will suit. The Australian-bred Shaqira made a pleasing debut when only beaten a couple of lengths into fifth in an ordinary maiden and is a threat with improvement assured. The rest have shown little but Barry Hills has sprung into form lately and any support for Mount Crystal, not seen since last November, should be noted.
