      Verdict

      WUFUD started out with a very good second at Kempton in April and was odds-on for a novices' race at Salisbury in June but ran a shocker. He'll need to bounce back though his likely main rival Preacher Man, an excellent second at Ascot last summer, hasn't run for over a year. Star Of Athena looked as though she needed further than this when staying on over a mile here last month. That remark also applies to Phobos, running on over that same trip at Kempton.
