Verdict

Black Kalanisi is best watched having a first run for a new yard after more than a year on the sidelines. Monsieur Lambrays is hard to catch right but was only beaten a short-head by a subsequent winner at Ascot two runs ago. Russian Rumour has looked in the handicapper’s grip the last twice but is ridden by an accomplished amateur, as is Lexington Knight, who has won twice over shorter trips this year. Captain Kane’s latest win came on Polytrack and he would have preferred quicker ground so GOLDEN SHOT gets another chance despite failing to land the odds at York 10 days ago when 5lb lower in the weights.
