Verdict
HELTENHAM survived a couple of scares to win at Newcastle on Boxing Day. He beat a subsequent winner in the process and can defy a rise in the weights if cutting out the mistakes. How's The Cricket finished runner-up at Taunton though is now 10lb higher than an earlier success over track and trip while Valirann Gold also won off a 10lb lower mark when successful at Chepstow. Hidor De Bersy remains unpredictable while Icone D'aubrelle makes his chasing debut on his return from an absence.
