    Verdict

    A decent handicap with all four entries running well at present. TRUE JEM has landed two of her last four and impressed when looking to score with something to spare at Haydock. She has a 6lb penalty but, though yet to win on good ground, gets the nod. Haymaker ran a cracker at Pontefract last week when only beaten half-a-length but stays further and this may be a tactical affair. Elsals is progressive but over 7f whereas Regal Envoy, brilliantly placed by Clive Cox to land three of his last five, looks a thorough sprinter, though is upped in grade.

    Haymaker 7-2 (9-10) Midfield, keen, pushed along and headway over 2f out, raced wide, pressed leader final furlong, ran on, just failed, 4th of 10, 1/4l behind Corinthia Knight (9-12) at Pontefract 6f hcp (4) gf in Aug.

    Elsals 4-1 (9-7) Went right start, soon prominent, pushed along and pressed leader 2f out, led over 1f out, ridden and edged right inside last, stayed on grimly, just held on, won at Haydock 7f hcp (4) sft in Jun beating Zulu Tracker (9-4) by hd, 9 ran.

    Regal Envoy (IRE) Evensfav (9-3) Led, ridden over 1f out, driven and pressed inside final furlong, headed briefly towards finish, won at Bath 6f hcp (4) fm in Jun beating Ruby Cottage (9-7) by shd, 4 ran.
