Verdict

Mark Johnston won this last year with useful stayer Hartnell and RESONANT can follow suit. He's a half-brother to two middle-distance winners and, though he'll do better next season, can repel the challenge of Charlie Appleby's pair Emirates Skywards and Subcontinent. Both of the latter are by Dubawi and related to winners while fellow newcomer My Reward is interesting. Taraz has the benefit of previous experience but will need to improve on his debut at Haydock.
