Verdict
HOT SUMMER ran the well-regarded Royal Crusade to a neck on debut at Newmarket and was possibly too keen when fourth at Kempton subsequently. He is the form pick in this and his dam won over a mile so he gets the vote, though Jellystone looks a danger. Ralph Beckett’s colt attracted market support at HQ and will know more today. Bealach has ability and his yard is going well but a switch to handicaps may be on the cards for Protagonist. Fashion Royalty blew the start at Newmarket last month but that looked a strong maiden and she can only improve.
