      Verdict

      CITY GIRL, one of many good rides on the card for Richard Hughes, can get the championship-chasing pilot off to a good start. The Elusive City filly was backed into favouritism on her Salisbury debut but succumbed in a photo to Jollification after showing good speed, the pair comfortably clear of the remainder. She experiences soft ground now for the first time but this does look a sound opportunity to go one better. Kodatish, a nice fourth on a Bath debut, is entered up at Windsor on Monday evening, whilst Blackdown Spirit showed promise on his Windsor debut when seemingly unfancied. He rates the main danger unless one of the newcomers attracts notable market support.
