A couple of these carry penalties but Scorpion Sid made a winning start over hurdles with victory over 2m4f at Chepstow, though OXWICH BAY may prove better suited to today’s shorter trip. The latter also won over 2m4f when successful here but went close over 2m on several occasions before and handles heavy going. The remainder have yet to threaten but Midnight Trouble could go well on his hurdling bow having finished a well-beaten fourth in a bumper at Warwick on his racecourse debut.
