In depth

Verdict

Ebony Gale was in excellent form in 2021, winning four times, but hasn't been seen for over a year and has changed yards. Premier D'troice is an ultra-consistent performer at this sort of level and has dropped to a winnable mark while Robyndzone bounced back to form when making all at Hereford. He's only been raised 4lb but doesn't have his rider's 5lb claim this time. PRINCE DES FICHAUX started favourite on his chasing debut in that latter event. Beaten just under three lengths, he has a big enough pull to reverse the form and take this.
