        Verdict

        Rod Millman’s yard has a good record in races like this and PRIDE OF HAWRIDGE won a similar contest at Salisbury last summer. He travelled strongly for a long way over course and distance last month and has been dropped a pound since. Starfighter won under Megan Wingrove at Beverley in July but might have preferred a quicker surface. Gert Lush is in good form and has only gone up 3lb for winning at Goodwood while a case can also be made for Rita Rana and Prince Achille.
