Verdict

MARLINKA is taken to fulfil the promise of her debut with Just For Leo, Pabusar and Royal Opera feared most. There was plenty to like about the selection's run at Warwick where she ran the more experienced Danube Dancer to a head, pulling clear of the third in the process. Roger Charlton's juveniles often derive considerable benefit from their initial experiences and this race doesn't obviously appear to be any stronger. Just For Leo is the most experienced in the line-up but connections have already reached for the headgear in an attempt to eke out a few pounds of improvement. He's bumped into some fair performers so far and has leading claims. Royal Opera took a step forward at Goodwood but needs to do so again if he's to trouble the principals and of more interest may be the newcomer Pabusar, who is the second foal of a useful performer and a winning juvenile herself. The yard hasn't sent out many juveniles yet and the betting may be informative but, at this stage, Marlinka is the one that we want to be with.
