Pateese has been placed in all three starts over hurdles but looks very one-paced and was readily left behind by Buddy Holly when odds-on at Towcester earlier this month. Stablemate Thunderstorm won a bumper at Huntingdon last season but has been well beaten in two runs over timber, so this may be best left to ANGE GUERRIER. Paul Nicholls' grey, a winner four times on the Flat in his native France, shaped nicely when fifth under a patient ride on his debut over hurdles at Taunton and should have gleaned considerable benefit from that outing.
